Nettle root extract, from the commonly found nettle herb is often used in conjunction with Saw Palmetto to help alleviate the symptoms of BPH (Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia). Although the method of action isn't entirely clear, it is thought that chemicals found in nettle root can affect the hormones which cause enlargement of the prostate gland. Some studies have also shown that nettle root may also slow the growth of prostate cancer cells, however more research is still needed in this area.
